Soul Sister Ley is the Choir Director of The Falmouth Community Gospel Choir which began life as a 10 week workshop in January 2013.Today it is a harmonious gathering based in Falmouth, made up of a community of people from all over Cornwall. The simple aim is ‘To connect Cornwall to the glorious sound of Gospel music and to inspire all those that hear the choir sing’. The choir seeks to encourage and uplift people throughout the Cornish community. The experience is always both memorable and moving. It’s a fabulous boost for the mind, body and soul for all those that hear the choir.
To date the highlight performances have been :
Opening up the ‘Parklive’ event held over the summer at Kimberley Park, Falmouth,
Supporting The Larry Carlton Quartet at the Mylor Summer Sessions,
Performing for Children in Need at the National Maritime Museum for the South West Region,
Supporting the Denys Baptiste ‘Dream’ tour at The Hall for Cornwall a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the ‘March on Washington’.

When invited Ley and Richard enjoy running workshops at festivals, schools, community events and for various organisations in and around Cornwall where they live. Their workshops are always an unforgettable, uplifting and liberating experience Ley Adewole and Richard Penrose have spent many years working in Gospel music. Together they are currently running the Falmouth Community Gospel Choir (FCGC) that meet 10.30 to 12.30pm every Wednesday (except during school hoildays) at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Falmouth. The Cornish Community are fuly invited to come and join in what will prove to be a totally inspiring time. The first session is FREE and following sessions are £6.
